Alpaca Therapy o.z.
Our aim is to offer you a place where you can connect with nature and alpacas, in a presence that soothes and calms.
It is not just about experiences, but about moments that bring you back to a sense of inner balance.
ALPACA THERAPY O.Z.
✱ What is alpaca therapy?
Alpaca therapy is a form of animal-assisted therapy that uses the calming presence and gentle nature of alpacas to support people on their way to recovery and inner well-being. It builds on the deep connection between people and nature and can bring a range of emotional and physical benefits.
Alpacas are known for their peaceful and friendly behaviour. Their presence alone can help lower stress, bring a sense of calm and support people dealing with anxiety or mental exhaustion. Meeting an alpaca is often a moment when you can stop, take a breath and switch off from the everyday rush for a while.
The therapy takes place in a natural, relaxed setting that is soothing in itself. Participants can walk with the alpacas, feed them, stroke them or simply be close to them. These moments bring not only joy and calm, but also a stronger connection with nature and an awareness of its restorative power.

✱ The nature and behaviour of alpacas
Alpacas win people over not only with their charm, but also with their exceptional nature. They are curious, friendly and a little shy – but not fearful. They are social animals that naturally live in herds, where they form strong bonds and respect the hierarchy. This combination of traits makes them popular companions – not only among animal lovers, but also among breeders and therapists.
Alpacas are protective of their herd, intelligent and fairly easy to train. Although they are calm most of the time, they approach strangers with caution. Their sensitivity, however, allows them to build trust quickly – especially when we treat them with respect and calm.
One of the most interesting traits of alpacas is their intelligence. They learn quickly and respond well to communication with people. Thanks to this ability, they have become popular therapy animals and ideal companions for walks, experience programmes and other leisure activities.
✱ HOW CAN ALPACA THERAPY HELP?
Benefits of alpaca therapy
Stress relief
One of the most noticeable effects of alpaca therapy is less stress. The calm nature of alpacas naturally passes on to the people who spend time with them. Even brief contact with an animal can help lower the level of cortisol – the stress hormone – in the body. Alpacas are especially good at this, because their calm energy and gentle temperament create a sense of safety and comfort.
Emotional support
Besides easing stress, alpacas offer emotional support to people going through anxiety, grief or a difficult period. Their undemanding presence, touch or quiet closeness can create space for calm and inner stability. For many people, simply being able to form a bond with these animals is a first step towards feeling better.
Therapy companions
Alpacas are naturally perceptive and can respond sensitively to a person’s emotional state. This makes them exceptional partners in therapeutic work. Together with professional guidance, they can help overcome communication barriers and open the way to a deeper understanding of one’s own feelings.

How does the therapy work?
Our alpaca therapy sessions take place in the calm of nature, where time slows down and everything goes quiet for a while. We want you to feel accepted, safe and at ease with us – without pressure, simply in the presence of animals and at your own pace.
✱ Welcome
We meet at our AlpaCafé bistro, where we welcome you and briefly tell you what to expect. You will meet the alpacas and get basic instructions on how to interact with them safely and kindly.
✱ Therapy with alpacas
Depending on the type of activity, you can look forward to calm feeding and rest in the presence of the alpacas, a walk in nature, or a combination of both. Each session is guided with the visitor’s needs in mind – whether they are looking for silence, a gentle touch, laughter or relaxation.
✱ Time for yourself
At the end you can rest quietly in the grounds, talk with us about what you experienced, or enjoy a warm drink or other refreshments in the café. Therapy is not about performance – it is about being. And you are welcome exactly as you are.
✱ Individual approach
If you have specific needs or wishes, or would like an individual therapy session, do not hesitate to contact us. We will gladly adapt the therapy to suit you as well as possible.
